CBS All Access’s Jordan Peele-hosted reboot of “The Twilight Zone” can now be considered an Emmy-nominated series, as star Kumail Nanjiani has been nominated for his performance in the new show’s very first episode, titled “The Comedian.” Nanjiani’s performance earned him a nomination today in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series category.
The actor plays Samir Wassan in “The Comedian,” a stand-up comic who’s unaware that every joke he tells results in someone from his life being erased from existence.
In the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series category, Jessica Lange has been nominated for “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.” For her return to the FX anthology series, Lange reprised the role of Constance Langdon, a role that previously won her an Emmy.
The 71st annual Emmy Awards will be presented on September 22nd.
