Quibi, ALTER, DIGA Studios and POD 3 announced today an even larger cast for the Sam Raimi-directed and produced “50 States of Fright”, which will launch on Quibi in 2020.
Victoria Justice, Karen Allen, Colin Ford, Alex Fitzalan, James Ransone, Emily Hampshire, Elizabeth Reaser, Rory Culkin, Warren Christie, Danay Garcia and William B. Davis have joined the cast of the first season of horror series that explores stories based on urban legends from Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon and Washington taking viewers deeper into the horrors that lurk just beneath the surface of our country.
They join previously announced cast members Rachel Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel, Christina Ricci, Jacob Batalon, Ming-Na Wen, Taissa Farmiga, Asa Butterfield, John Marshall Jones and Ron Livingston.
Justice (“Victorious”, “Eye Candy,” Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again) and Ford (“Day Break”, “Supernatural”) have signed on for “Red Rum”, following the storyline of Colorado’s scariest story, starring Ricci (“Monster,” “Z: The Beginning of Everything”) and Batalon (Spiderman: Homecoming, Spiderman: Far From Home).
Allen (National Lampoon’s Animal House, Raiders of the Lost Ark) will join Wen (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “The Mandalorian”) in the Kansas-based episode, “America’s Largest Ball of Twine”.
Fitzalan (“The Society”, Slender Man,) will star alongside Butterfield (“Sex Education”, “Hugo”) in “Grey Cloud Island”, a chilling tale from Minnesota.
Ransone (It Chapter 2, Sinister) and Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”, “12 Monkeys”) will co-star in “Scared Stiff”, based on Oregon folklore.
Reaser (Twilight, “The Handmaid’s Tale”), Christie (Apollo 18, “The Village”) and William B. Davis (“The X-Files”, Bad Times at the El Royale) have signed on to play in “Dogwood – Azalea”, the telling of Missouri’s darkest myth.
Culkin (Lords of Chaos, You Can Count On Me) will play the male lead in the Washington-based episode, “13 Steps to Hell”.
Garcia (“Fear the Walking Dead”, “Prison Break”) is set to star in “Santeria”, based on frightening Florida lore.
