With a rich mythology and incredible action sequences, the John Wick franchise has been a massive hit at the box office, each new installment topping the last and proving that audiences cannot get enough of the Keanu Reeves-led saga. Which is why a fourth film is already in the works, set for 2021 release, and a female-led spinoff film is also on its way.
Oh and there’s also the spinoff television series “The Continental” from Starz, which is of course set within the John Wick Universe and will focus on the inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins. When can we expect it, you ask?
Sometime after the fourth film’s release, Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch has revealed this week. Hirsch explained, via Deadline, “I had a meeting on a season pitch for this yesterday. We like the group of writers, and we’re trying to get it in the right place so it doesn’t interfere with the motion picture. It will air sometime after the fourth movie.”
John Wick: Chapter 4 will blast its way into theaters on May 21, 2021.
“The Continental” is being written by Chris Collins, who will also be the show-runner. Chad Stahelski is directing the premiere episode, and Wick himself may pop up in the series.
