The new season of Shudder‘s “The Last Drive-In” is in full swing, with new episodes premiering every Friday night. As always, Joe Bob Briggs presents a double feature of horror movies each Friday night, playing the role of host alongside Darcy the Mail Girl. And this week, Shudder has announced today, the duo is being joined by horror icon Jeffrey Combs!

Shudder announced via press release, “The hit Shudder Original series “The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs” continues on Friday, April 30 with special guest, actor Jeffrey Combs (The Re-Animator, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). New episodes premiere live on the Shudder TV feed at 9pm ET/8c. Fans can also watch on demand on Shudder and AMC+ on Sundays.”

As for the movies being shown this week, we won’t know until Friday night. But Joe Bob teased over on Twitter, “First up is a sequel to a horror classic paying homage to a sequel to a horror classic. Second is one of those rediscoveries that caused a director to be recognized 30 years later.” Feel free to place your bets and comment with your guesses below…

And if you’ve never watched “The Last Drive-In,” tune in via Shudder’s live feed and watch along with your horror friends on Twitter. It’s always the best way to spend a Friday night!

On “The Last Drive-In,” Briggs, the world’s foremost drive-in movie critic hosts eclectic horror movie double features, expounding upon their merits, histories and significance to genre cinema. Shudder and Briggs first teamed up in July 2018, for the 24-hour marathon intended to be Briggs’ final farewell to televised movie hosting. Due to overwhelming popular demand, Shudder brought “The Last Drive-In” back as a weekly series and for multiple holiday specials.

Last week we learned that Steve Buscemi had joined the cast of “Wednesday” Season 2 at Netflix, and Variety lets us know that Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”) has also signed on.

Jenna Ortega is back as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” with Steve Buscemi playing the new principal of Nevermore Academy.

Jenna Ortega stars in the hit series as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia in Tim Burton’s Netflix series. Christina Ricci also appears in the show, playing a brand new role, with Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…

“Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton executive producing and directing several episodes of the show’s debut season.

We don’t know much about “Wednesday” Season 2 at the moment but Jenna Ortega has promised that the new season will be “bolder” and darker than the first season of the series.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror more,” Ortega said last year.
