R.L. Stine’s “Just Beyond” Brings Gateway Horror to Disney+ This Fall and We’ve Got the First Images!

Annabelle Comes Home and Ghostbusters: Afterlife actress Mckenna Grace will continue playing around in the horror genre with the upcoming “Just Beyond,” a Disney+ anthology series based on R.L. Stine‘s comic book series. Disney+ has given an eight-episode order to the series, which hails from writer/showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and 20th Century Fox Television.

The series premieres this Fall on Disney+, we’ve learned today. Check out some first-look images below, and take note of the Goosebumps shirt one of the characters is wearing. It seems the series takes place in a world where Stine and the Goosebumps franchise exist, similar to the world of the 2015 Goosebumps feature film. With a brand new Goosebumps television series in the works and Netflix recently bringing the Fear Street novels to the screen with a trilogy of movies, it looks like the R.L. Stine Business is booming. And we love to see it!

Stine will serve as co-executive producer, with Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) recently coming on board to direct the series. Webb will be directing the first two episodes.

I grew up watching Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents,” Grahame-Smith said in a statement last year. “I’ve always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and do it in a way that delivered for kids and adults alike. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of childhoods, and Disney+ has already proven itself as a place that knows how to make high-quality shows for the whole family. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with both of them.”

Back in the day, we had a Goosebumps HorrorLand attraction at Walt Disney World,” said author R.L. Stine in the same press release. “It was one of the thrills of my life. Now I’m thrilled to be back with Disney for the TV series based on my graphic novels. Writing Just Beyond for BOOM! Studios has been a joy from the beginning, and I’m so happy to have the wonderful screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith bring the series to life on Disney+. How lucky can I be?

The cast for “Just Beyond” also includes Lexi Underwood (The First Lady).

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Brad Dourif

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.

Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
