“Gargoyles” Live-Action Series in the Works from Gary Dauberman and James Wan’s Atomic Monster
Cult Disney animated series “Gargoyles” is getting resurrected in live-action series form, with two powerhouse horror names behind it. THR reports today that Gary Dauberman and James Wan’s Atomic Monster banner are teaming up to remake the 1990s cartoon as a live-action series for Disney+.
Dauberman will serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner for the series with Atomic Monster, the company run by Wan and Michael Clear, executive producing.
The original series premise “involved gargoyle statues moved from a castle in Scotland to modern day New York. Once in the Big Apple, the statues awaken from a thousand-year-old spell and take on the mantle of protecting the city, becoming, as the show’s narration gravely said, ‘stone by day, warriors by night.’”
The 90s animated series was produced by Walt Disney Television and centered on literal stone gargoyles that come to life and transform into protectors of NYC at night. Three seasons of “Gargoyles” were produced in total, with fans frequently still begging for its return to this day. The series originally aired from October 24, 1994, to February 15, 1997.
Dauberman previously wrote Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation and Annabelle Comes Home, which were produced by Atomic Monster and are an integral part of Wan’s The Conjuring Universe, the highest-grossing horror franchise of all time. He also penned Conjuring spinoff The Nun. Dauberman and Wan also previously collaborated on “Swamp Thing,” the short-lived series based on the DC character that streamed on the now-defunct DC Universe platform.
There has been a good deal of renewed interest in “Gargoyles” in recent years, with various collectibles emerging from brands like NECA and Funko, leading many fans of the show to wonder if we’d someday receive a revival of some kind. Even star Keith David hoped for a revival. Thanks to a pair of horror stalwarts, hopes have been answered and a revival is finally on its way.

“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” Trailer – “Camp Cretaceous” Sequel Kills Off Jenna Ortega’s Character
In the wake of the five-season animated series “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” Netflix’s “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” is stomping its way onto the platform this year.
“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” premieres May 24, and the series is set six years after the events of “Camp Cretaceous.” Watch the official trailer from Netflix below.
While the other characters from “Camp Cretaceous” are back in the new series, what’s interesting here is that Jenna Ortega’s Brooklynn is not coming back. As the official “Chaos Theory” trailer reveals, Brooklynn was killed off between shows, with the character’s death kickstarting the “conspiracy thriller” events of this brand new Jurassic World sequel series.
Jenna Ortega had voiced Brooklynn for all five seasons of “Camp Cretaceous.”

“Six years later, members of “The Nublar Six” are struggling to find their footing off the islands, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them.
“Reunited in the wake of a tragedy, the group comes together only to find themselves on the run and catapulted into a global adventure to unravel a conspiracy that threatens dinosaur and humankind alike and finally learn the truth about what happened to one of their own.”
There will be 10 episodes in the show’s first season, running 22-minutes each.
Scott Kreamer, Aaron Hammersley serve as Executive Producers and Showrunners, with Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall also serving as Executive Producers.
Speaking of Jurassic World, a brand new live action movie is also coming soon. It doesn’t yet have a title, but it’s releasing July 2, 2025, and Scarlett Johansson is in talks to star.
