Robert Englund Voices a New Character in ‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’

Robert Englund is returning to Hawkins in “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85” — in a brand new role!

The horror icon, who played the pivotal role of Victor Creel in “Stranger Things” Season 4, voices a new character named Cosmo in the upcoming animated spinoff.

The new “Tales from ’85” trailer even features a nod to Englund’s Nightmare on Elm Street roots in the form of a Freddy Krueger cardboard cutout, pictured below.

The first two episodes of “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85” will screen in select theaters April 18 before all 10 episodes drop April 23 on Netflix.

Set in the winter of 1985, snow blankets the town and the horrors of the Upside Down are finally fading. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into a normal life of D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days.

But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab? Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins.

Eric Robles (“Fanboy & Chum Chum”) serves as showrunner, with Flying Bark Productions (“What If…?,” “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as the animation studio.

It stars Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, Brett Gipson as Hopper, Jeremy Jordan as Steve, and Odessa A’zion as newcomer Nikki Baxter.

The cast also includes Janeane Garofalo as Anna Baxter, Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel Fischer, Robert Englund as Cosmo, Alysia Reiner as Karen Wheeler, Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler, Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario, and Jack Griffo as Jeff.

“Stranger Things” creators Matt & Ross Duffer executive produce with Hilary Leavitt on behalf of Upside Down Pictures, alongside Shawn Levy via 21 Laps, Dan Cohen, and Robles.
