Retro SNES Game ‘King of the Monsters’ Now Available for Nintendo Switch

Published

Twenty six years later, King of the Monsters roars back to life!

Created by SNK Corporation for the Neo-Geo in Japan before getting later ports for the SNES and Sega Genesis by Takara, 1991’s King of the Monsters was a Kaiju fighting/wrestling game that allowed you to choose one of six monsters and “battle your way across Japan in order to claim the title of strongest monster.”

Remember it fondly? Wish to play it again? You’ll be happy to learn that King of the Monsters, as of this month, has been faithfully reproduced for the Nintendo Switch!

“In addition to normal attacks such as punches and kicks, master more destructive techniques such as flame and beam attacks to overcome the enemies. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.”

You can digitally purchase the game for $7.99 over in the Nintendo Switch shop!

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
