I’ll admit that I wasn’t aware of Joey Draw Studios’ episodic survival horror game Bendy and the Ink Machine when it was released last year on Steam. But after seeing some of the gameplay videos, I’m kicking myself for not finding it sooner.
If you’re like me and didn’t discover it the first time around, you’re in luck! The game will be headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26th, with a Nintendo Switch release in November. All of the console releases will include the five episodes that make up the game.
The premise of the game has it set in 1966, where an elderly animator named Henry, who upon an invitation from his old friend Joey Drew, returns to his old animation studio. Once there, Henry discovers that the studio has been overrun by nightmarish cartoon characters that have been created by the titular Ink Machine.
As Henry navigates his former workplace, trying to put a stop to things, he will be forced to fight the characters based on his drawings, as well as avoiding Bendy, the studio’s mascot, who is intent on killing Henry.
If you can’t wait, you can always hit up the game on Steam.
