Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 took home the lion’s share of the awards tonight at The Game Awards 2018, but it was Sony Santa Monica that snagged the big one.
Nominated in eight categories, the action-Western game took home the awards for Best Narrative, Best Score/Music, Best Audio Design and Best Performance. It was also nominated in Game of the Year and Best Game Direction, but lost out in both categories to God of War. The return of Kratos was also nominated in eight categories, and also took home the award for Best Action/Adventure Game.
Capcom’s wildly successful RPG Monster Hunter World took home the award for Best RPG, and was also nominated for Game of the Year and Best Multiplayer Game. Speaking of which, Epic’s Fortnite snagged the latter award, as well as Best Ongoing Game.
