Released back in 2015 for the PC, and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last year, developer Cowardly Creations have announced that they’re bringing their 2D survival horror title Uncanny Valley to the Nintendo Switch for Christmas. Literally, they’re releasing it on the Nintendo eShop on December 25th.
The game puts you in the role of Tom, a security guard at a remote facility. As things go, you’re on the night shift. Not much is happening, so Tom decides to starts exploring the facility. Needless to say, he finds things that probably shouldn’t have been discovered by him.
Unlike traditional survival horror such as Resident Evil, Uncanny Valley takes the 2D pixel-based approach when it comes to delivering scares. The game also encourages multiple playthroughs to see all the game’s secrets. Uncanny Valley also employs a “consequence system” mechanic, where mistakes won’t necessarily result in death, but will leave you with other problems, such as a broken arm that makes it more difficult to shoot.
