For the time being, the Duke Nukem franchise is currently dormant, but that’s not stopping modders like Syndroid and NSKuber from fighting the good fight and bringing us more Duke in the form of Duke Nukem 3D in the Serious Sam 3 engine.
Currently, Serious Duke 3D only has the first episode of the FPS classic for you to play, but there’s still a lot to see and do. Furthermore, the game has had a few additions and tweaks, including “redesigned and expanded level areas, occasional enemy waves/arena fights and new weapons”.
On top of that, you can even play the game in VR (though you’ll need Serious Sam 3 VR to do so).
As for the remaining episodes, due to “limited time and resources”, those probably aren’t possible. However, Syndroid adds that they might potentially do “each episode 2 and 3 as single maps which would contain all the highlights of the respective episode in one level.”
To get in on the fun, you’ll need Serious Sam Fusion and a copy of Serious Sam 3.
Thanks for the heads up, DSOGaming.
