Indie developers Shockwork Games have announced that they’re turning to Kickstarter to help finish their upcoming turn-based, tactical stealth game, Alder’s Blood. The game is still set to be released January 2020 for the PC and Nintendo Switch (with other console versions at a later date), but the goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to “add new features to an already bursting project”, and to “polish and refine the systems to the highest degree”.
In Alder’s Blood, humanity has survived millennia and now finally has to face the End Times. Forsaken by a corrupt god, players take on the role of monster slayers known as Hunters. Trained to hunt and kill anything that threatens the remaining people, you must restore peace to the land.
Featuring ambush-based combat where you must outsmart monsters much stronger than yourself, a diverse range of monsters to battle, and a world that’s a fusion of dark Victorian fantasy and the Wild West, Alder’s Blood looks to be a unique offering for those looking beyond your usual turn-based strategy game.
