Due to Licensing Issues, NECA Has Cancelled Toony Terrors NES Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger Figures

Published

on

Well, it was too good to be true. After the sneak reveal on Friday the 13th, people who pre-ordered the Toony Terrors NES versions of Jason and Freddy have been receiving cancellation emails stating that NECA is unable to offer the figures, as reported by ToyArk.

NECA has in turn removed all mention of the figures from their website and socials. As you may recall, due to the ongoing issues resulting from Sean Cunningham’s lawsuit over the rights to Friday The 13th, and now with the recent troubles with NECA and the A Nightmare On Elm Street license, there was a hold put on new Freddy and Jason merchandise.

NECA’s Randy Falk stated that these figures had been approved in 2018 (before this nonsense began), but it seems that even these figures are at the mercy of the law.

No word yet when (or if) these figures will be available, but it looks as though the upcoming Part V Roy and 8” Clothed New Nightmare Freddy figures are the last we’ll be seeing for a while.
