Forever Entertainment Remaking First Two ‘The House of The Dead’ Games

Published

Okay, no one’s going to lie and say that The House of The Dead games weren’t cheesy as hell, but also pretty damn fun lightgun games. Which is more than what can be said about the films, but I digress.

According to an article by Polish website Grampospolita.pl, Forever Entertainment (the same devs behind the upcoming Panzer Dragoon remakes) have stated that they’re next project will be to remake the first two entries in The House of The Dead series! The translated article states that the games will have “new graphics adapted to modern standards and slightly modified gameplay, but will fully preserve the original scenario”.

No platforms have been announced (or how they’ll work with the lightgun mechanics), but the first game is expected next year, with Forever Entertainment presenting a few tidbits in the coming months.

My question is: Will we be getting a remake of Typing of the Dead? Probably not, but hey, for those who love their lightgun shooters with a heavy helping of cheese, you’re in luck.

Your Scream Is Your Doom in Co-Op Horror Game ‘Don’t Panic Together’ [Trailer]

Other titles have made use of your mic as a central part of their gameplay, but not many have made your teammate’s mic the crux of your survival. Legions Studio is taking that route with their new co-op “high-stakes silence” psychological horror game Don’t Panic Together, where your own voice (and your friends’ panic) determines your fate.

Available now in Early Access on Steam, in Don’t Panic Together, players take on the role of police officers trying to survive and complete their assigned tasks in Grimwood, an abandoned town hidden deep within the forest. However, as the night progresses, everything begins to change. You can no longer trust what you see, and the only way to survive is to stay quiet and make it through the night.

With the game’s microphone detection system, panic can become your downfall. Sudden noises, screaming, or losing control of your voice can directly lead to your death. It’s a game of nerves where you must coordinate with your team in total silence while being hunted by something that is literally listening to your real-world reactions.

Adding to the game’s atmosphere is the use of the bodycam perspective, with “subtle VHS effects and handheld camera movement.” That’s in combination with the ambient sounds, sudden effects, and the darkness of the forest to create constant tension throughout the experience.
