October 1st means that Edmund McMillen’s follow-up to The Binding of Isaac in The Legend of Bum-bo will be hitting in just over a month. As such, McMillen himself took to YouTube to show off the game’s first level in its entirety, and give you a better idea of what to expect when it hits November 12th.
Unlike its predecessor, The Legend of Bum-bo uses puzzle-based mechanics, and from the looks of things, has an interface that is oddly reminiscent of Bejeweled. In the video, McMillen goes over the gameplay mechanics and explains how combat works, culminating in a boss battle.
It’s not The Binding of Isaac 2, but for those those enjoy that game’s lore/universe, this might be the next best thing.
So far, The Legend of Bum-bo is currently set for release on Steam.
