‘Grand Theft Auto’ Meets Lovecraft in Horror Survival Adventure ‘Dead Static Drive’

Published

on

If you’ve ever wanted to cruise the desolate highways of the U.S. while avoiding Lovecraftian horrors, then developer Mike Blackney’s Dead Static Drive might be just for you.

Described by Blackney as “Grand Theft Cthulhu” and set for release on Steam this year, Dead Static Drive has you scavenging your way across the countryside while avoiding the Eldritch horrors that erupt from the ground as if they were Graboids from Tremors. You’ll have to “sneak, scavenge, fight, befriend, barricade and bunker-in”, or jack a vehicle to survive.

You’ll also have to contend with other people looking to survive just like you, which also includes having to fight them for supplies.

Check out the early teaser below.
