New ‘DUSK’ SDK Allows Players to Use Maps From ‘DOOM’, ‘Quake’ And ‘Half-Life’

It was only a matter of time, but thanks to the recently-released SDK for New Blood Interactive’s DUSK, not only can we now can create mods for the throwback shooter, but as a surprise, you can also play maps from Quake and Half-Life, too!

The DUSK SDK allows fans to do the usual replacing of textures and implementing custom sound mods, all of which can be found on the new DUSK Mods website. But, you also have the ability to run your old maps from Quake and Half-Life in DUSK, as well as maps from DOOM!

Of course, there’s a little bit of work involved (which New Blood Interactive have helpfully detailed here on just what to do), and there are still a few kinks that need to be worked out for the time being, but it’s a start. Publisher New Blood Interactive have also said that Steam Workshop support for DUSK and a Mod DB presence are “coming soon.”

As we’ve said before, if you’re a fan of old-school shooters, and haven’t played DUSK, with the release of the SDK, you really have no excuse not to play it now. Plus, the game’s on sale until Monday on Steam, so get cracking!
