Rumour: Cryptic Tweets From Kojima Productions, Masahiro Ito Indicate New ‘Silent Hill’ Game?

Published

on

The case around P.T. and Silent Hills is still a sore spot for many Silent Hill fans, but this rumour (and it’s only just a rumour) makes it seem like we might have those dashed hopes resolved.

As you know, Kojima has been watching horror movies in preparation for Kojima Productions’ next game. Sony is in turn also looking at working on a new horror IP for their upcoming PlayStation 5. However, Konami is also looking at new Silent Hill projects, and Silent Hill series monster designer Masahiro Ito is also at it with a new project.

Hold onto your butts for this one.

Earlier, Kojima Productions tweeted out that they were sorry to be “silent” about their next project. However, on closer inspection, the pencil held by Aki Saito, Kojima Productions’ Head of Communications, has the ‘PYRAMID’ branding, and the notepad has ‘NEXT WEEK!’ scrawled on it.

Not long after that tweet, Masahiro Ito tweeted this out in response.

If that wasn’t cryptic enough, going back through Ito’s Twitter history, you come up with this tweet from 2017:

Still got your tinfoil hat on? What if, through all of this, Sony has managed to work out a deal with Konami to resurrect the Silent Hill brand for the PS5, which has Kojima Productions involved in its creation?

Again, to reiterate, this is all a complete rumour right now, and there’s been no indication that Konami, Kojima Productions or Ito are working together. It could all be just one big coincidence. However, stranger things have happened in this industry.
