Horror Adventure Game ‘Mundaun’ Launching on Steam Next Spring

Published

on

A few years ago, we mentioned Hidden Fields and their hand-drawn horror adventure game, Mundaun. Well, after partnering up with publisher MWM Interactive, the game will finally see a release on Steam in Spring 2021.

In Mundaun, you assume the role of an unnamed protagonist. After learning of your grandfather’s mysterious death in a fire, you travel to Mundaun for the first time since childhood. You soon discover something ancient is haunting the inhabitants. In order to get to the bottom of this, you must make your way up Mundaun mountain.

Employing a unique greyscale aesthetic, the game will feature varied environments in its alpine world. Along with that, the game takes a cue from Amnesia, where not only do you have to solve puzzles, but you’ll also have to contend with your fear, where the stronger the fear, the more slowly you move.

You can find out more about Mundaun via its official site.

Upcoming Narrative Horror Title ‘Still Wakes the Deep’ Getting PS5 Physical Version

Published

Physical media fanatics can rejoice when it comes to The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode’s upcoming narrative horror game Still Wakes the Deep. Alongside the digital version of the game that’s set to launch on June 18 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, PlayStation owners will also be able to snag the physical version of Still Wakes the Deep on the same day.

Described as a welcome update for console players “whose greatest fear is the death of physical media,” the Still Wakes the Deep physical edition will be available from online and retail stores in North America and Europe. No word on if the Xbox Series will be getting the same treatment.

Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any additional goodies with the physical disc. But, given that this guarantees you’ll have a copy of Still Wakes the Deep that you can pop into your console and play without the need to download it again, that’s a small price to pay.

Still Wakes the Deep takes place in 1975, where disaster has struck the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. You are one of the oil rig workers on the Beira D rig, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. And something has snuck on board, leaving you to not only restore function to the rig, but also deal with the unknowable horror.

And keep an eye out for the upcoming mini documentary on Still Wakes the Deep, which is scheduled to arrive around April 30th.
