‘Silent Hill: Shattered Memories’ Creator Pushing For Follow-up

Published

on

Add another rumour to the pile of rumours regarding Konami working on a new entry in the Silent Hill series. This one comes from the the creator behind Silent Hill: Shattered Memories himself, who dropped a not-so-subtle hint that he’s been pushing for a follow-up to Shattered Memories.

While there’s not much to this other than creator Sam Barlow tweeting that he is currently trying to pitch the idea to the higher-ups at Konami, at least Barlow has some stroke, as they say. Barlow has recently seen a recent success with Her Story and Telling Lies, with both narrative video games earning praise for their stories.

Is this enough to convince Konami to open the doors to giving us another entry? We’ll have to see. The original Shattered Memories debuted on the Nintendo Wii back in 2009, with PSP and PlayStation 2 ports the following year. The game is a reimagining of the first installment of the series, keeping the premise of writer Harry Mason looking for his daughter in Silent Hill after a car crash, although it leads into a different plot.
