‘Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game’ Unveils New Demo Ahead of Steam Next Fest

Giant Light Studios’ surreal corporate horror deckbuilder Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game has a new demo available now for fans to check out ahead of Steam Next Fest in a few weeks’ time. Published by Behaviour Interactive and Gambit Digital, Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game combines Minesweeper-inspired deduction, push-your-luck mechanics, and roguelike deckbuilding in a corporate nightmare overseen by a smiling puppet who insists everything is perfectly harmless.

The new demo offers an expanded and refined preview of the game, with new narrative framing, gameplay systems, workplace exploration, and more Mr. Magpie interactions.

This new build also introduces the SHARES system, a revamped Strategy selection system, and an improved first-time user experience. Employees can also stand up from the table and explore Mr. Magpie’s office, offering an early glimpse at the game’s Walkabout exploration. The build also adds additional polish and fixes.

Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game is hosted by a deranged puppet with a very warped performance management program. You are trapped in Mr Magpie’s workplace, where your only choice is to earn cash and climb the corporate ladder. Flip cards, stack your deck, exploit strange synergies, and push your luck for bigger payouts.

Flip cards, use hints to avoid dangerous JERRY cards, exploit strange synergies, and get filthy rich. Just make your quota before closing time… or else.

Steam Next Fest runs from October 19–26.
