‘Resident Evil Village’ Launch Trailer Focuses on Story [Video]

Published

Really, what more can be said about Resident Evil Village? You’ve read our review (we love it, by the way). You’ve shelled out for the Japanese Collector’s Edition, you’ve watched Capcom’s wacky ads, and you’ve played the demo. Hell, you even want the standee that I’m pretty sure isn’t for sale!

So really, is there any more to say with Capcom revealing the launch trailer this morning? Absolutely. It’s only 30 seconds, but it nicely boils down what you’ve got to do in the game.

Resident Evil Village sees the return of Resident Evil VII‘s Ethan Winters, who has been living with his wife Mia and daughter Rosemary. Out of nowhere, Chris Redfield appears and kidnaps Ethan and his daughter to a remote European village located in Romania. Ethan must now search for answers in a village that is governed by four different lords, all of whom are governed by a mysterious Mother Miranda.

Resident Evil Village hits May 7 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Google Stadia, and PC via Steam.

And yes, someone already did mod Thomas The Tank Engine into the game.

Upcoming Narrative Horror Title ‘Still Wakes the Deep’ Getting PS5 Physical Version

Published

Physical media fanatics can rejoice when it comes to The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode’s upcoming narrative horror game Still Wakes the Deep. Alongside the digital version of the game that’s set to launch on June 18 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, PlayStation owners will also be able to snag the physical version of Still Wakes the Deep on the same day.

Described as a welcome update for console players “whose greatest fear is the death of physical media,” the Still Wakes the Deep physical edition will be available from online and retail stores in North America and Europe. No word on if the Xbox Series will be getting the same treatment.

Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any additional goodies with the physical disc. But, given that this guarantees you’ll have a copy of Still Wakes the Deep that you can pop into your console and play without the need to download it again, that’s a small price to pay.

Still Wakes the Deep takes place in 1975, where disaster has struck the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. You are one of the oil rig workers on the Beira D rig, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. And something has snuck on board, leaving you to not only restore function to the rig, but also deal with the unknowable horror.

And keep an eye out for the upcoming mini documentary on Still Wakes the Deep, which is scheduled to arrive around April 30th.
