[Exclusive] New Concept Art Revealed For Upcoming Norse Horror Adventure Game ‘Bramble: The Mountain King’
If you’re a fan of horror titles that make use of Nordic mythology such as Mundaun, then Dimfrost Studio’s upcoming Norse-inspired Bramble: The Mountain King will scratch that itch. The horror adventure title is currently in development for 2022 on Steam, and the team has decided to give us some goodies in the form of concept art for you to ogle.
The story starts out innocent enough: a young boy journeys through the mythical land of Bramble to find his sister, all the while facing his fears. Those fears turn out to be pretty horrific, as the monsters and creatures found in Bramble are rooted in Nordic folklore. In fact, the team have been dropping some info on some of the creatures you’ll be facing.
Speaking of which, here’s what the team has revealed in terms of concept art, complete with descriptions by straight from Elli, the team’s concept artist.

- Bramble Fairy – At first glance, they look like sweet little fairies. But do not be fooled by their beauty since they are quite wicked.

- The Bramble Mare – Dark creatures made up of bramble and the evil that seeps throughout the whole forest. They live on the negative energy that surrounds all living creatures.

- Bramble Moose – A creature looks like a moose at first glance, but when you take a closer look you can tell that his hands and feet are quite different. However, he mostly minds his own business and strolls around deep in the forests.

- Grey Dwarf – Primitive and evil group of dwarves living among poorly built red wooden structures. Be wary of them. They are not the friendliest creatures you’ll meet on your travels.

- Tuvstarr – The tale of Tuvstarr told by John Bauer is about a young princess wandering too far into the woods losing herself and now she can never return.

- Skogsrå – Mythical female creature of the forest, most often seen as a beautiful woman from the front but from behind she has a hollow back and tail. People following her into the forest will never be seen again.

- The Pinecone People – A tribe of small, mischievous creatures. These tiny inhabitants of the forest are mostly harmless to you, and you will meet many of them along your journey through the forest. They praise their leader through a ritualistic dance, and although not dangerous, they can be a bit annoying.

- Pesta – Old tales described the plague in the shape of an old woman by the name of Pesta. She walked from village to village with her broom and rake. If she was seen holding her rake, some people would be spared from the plague. If she instead held a broom then there would be no one left to save.

- Myling – The spirit of an unbaptized child, usually drowned by their own mothers.

- Lyktgubbe – It is said the light of the tantern of this creature is the souls of the deceased. Some legends say that the lantern man (lyktgubbe) is a ghost who hasn’t gotten peace.

- KärrHäxan – Once a midwife and owner of an orphanage in the swamp, the local villagers accused her of being a witch and burned her and the orphanage down. She now spends her days as a protector of the deceased children of the swamp. Although her story is tragic, her heart still knows how to love.

‘System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary’ Now Available on the Nintendo Switch 2; Free Upgrade Available
Nightdive Studios has given Nintendo Switch 2 fans some love when it comes to System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary. Previously released for the original Switch, players can now grab the Switch 2 version from the Nintendo eShop. Or, if you already own the Switch version, you can grab the Switch 2 version as a free upgrade! There’s even a 40% discount on now until June 23.
Initially launching for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store on last June, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster eventually made it to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch the next month. The Switch 2 version of the game offers enhanced resolution, higher fram rate, and support for mouse control.
Set 42 years after the events of the first game, it’s the year 2114. As you awake from cryo sleep on the FTL ship Von Braun, you are unable to remember who or where you are… and something has gone terribly wrong. Hybrid mutants and deadly robots roam the halls while the cries from the remaining crew reverberate through the cold hull of the ship. SHODAN, a rogue AI bent on the destruction of mankind has taken over and it’s up to you to stop her.
Delve through the corridors of the derelict ship Von Braun and immerse yourself in the story rich atmosphere and environments. Explore deck by deck and unravel the horrifying fate of the Von Braun and her crew.
