After months of waiting, Lilith Walther’s demake of From Software’s Bloodborne is finally out in the wild for fans to enjoy. Via itch.io, Bloodborne PSX is free to download, and sees you trudging through the streets of Yharnam, fighting off familiar monsters and foes.

“Wield over 10 unique hunter weapons using the Strategic Action Combat system to vanquish your foes. Dodge incoming attacks with your hunter’s quickstep ability, parry enemies with your quicksilver firearm, and transform your trick weapon to tailor your loadout for any encounter in this new, next-generation 3D experience that blends RPG and Action in a way you’ve been seen before. Only one question remains: Can you survive the night?”

Accompanying the Bloodborne PSX release is the new launch trailer, which once again features those beloved chunky PS1-styled graphics and graphical anomalies. Once again, it’s not the Bloodborne sequel that we’re all waiting for, but it’s a great tribute to what makes Bloodborne so appealing.

Bloodborne PSX won’t fill the aching hole many From Software-loving gamers have from Bloodborne‘s PS4 exclusivity, but, much like the lore-expanding comic series, it does keep the increasing legacy of the game growing further still.

Bloodborne is often thought of as the best game from the Japanese developer. So naturally more people want to play it. That’s why there’s been such clamor for a PC port (instead of the admittedly popular PS Now streaming option)and/or a remaster of the 2015 title (as PS5 doesn’t up the framerate). It’s been the source of many deep dives, theories, and the source of inspiration for plenty of games in the seven years since its release.

New ‘Dreadwoods Gatekeeper’ Devlog Provides Long-Awaited Production Update [Video]

Published

Raw Tale Games recently dropped a new devlog for its long-in-development medieval job sim Dreadwoods Gatekeeper, which is currently in development for release on Steam. Likened to Papers, Please with an atmospheric horror twist, the devlog dives into various aspects of the game, which main developer Darko describes as a “combination of story, horror, atmosphere, and simulation elements”.

Dreadwoods Gatekeeper sees you take on the role of a young army recruit who’s not the greatest at his job. To compensate for your lack of training, you choose to take on the job of gatekeeper  for an isolated gate outpost in the Dreadwoods region. Your job is simple: inspect travelers, their documents, and the goods in their wagons before decide to let them through. At the same time, you’ll also be doing maintenance of the old gatehouse, and keeping yourself and your animal companions fed.

Needless to say, the locals talk of how the outpost is cursed, but you don’t believe it. You soon start to change your mind, as something doesn’t feel quite right about this place. Are you truly alone here? Could there be something supernatural lurking in the shadows? It’s up to you to uncover the truth while carrying out your duties and surviving the eerie nights.

Currently, the game has been in development since 2024. Raw Tale Games is currently planning future playtests for Dreadwoods Gatekeeper, which you can currently track for updates via the mailing list.
