‘Meet Your Maker’ Open Beta Set for February 6 on Steam [Trailer]

Published

Back in December, Behaviour Interactive teased that those itching to play the developer’s upcoming Doom-styled raiding game Meet Your Maker would have the chance to do this Winter. As it so happens, that opportunity is in the form of a Meet Your Maker Open Beta.

The studio announced late last week that a week-long Meet Your Maker Open Beta will begin on Steam on February 6. The whole thing kicks off at 9am EST, ending on February 13th at 11:59pm EST. Any player with a Steam account can jump right in. No pre-registration required.

As opposed to the Closed Beta Test that took place last Fall, this Open Beta will include a whack of changes and improvements:

New social and progression systems: Systems around sharing Outpost and connecting players.

  • Champion Outpost: A curated system which puts forward Outposts that have performed well;
  • Social Raid: The social raid menu will allow players to search for and raid outposts set to the Social active state;
  • Ranking: Players earn Ranking Points by Raiding Outposts and Activating Outposts in the World Map.

New Building features: Focus on quality of life to build Outposts more efficiently

  • Drag and Drop: When building, players can quickly place several blocks of the same type all at once;
  • Trap Range Preview: When building, players can trigger a preview showcasing trap range / area of effect;
  • Delete everything: When building, players can delete blocks and other elements all at once.

Improvements on the following features:

  • Replay system;
  • Burial sites Store;
  • Matchmaking;
  • Onboarding / Tutorial;
  • User Interface;
  • And more!

Meet Your Maker will launch on April 4, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The game puts players as Custodians of the Chimera, a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth. You battle each other for the planet’s most coveted resource and necessary component to the Chimera’s evolution: pure Genetic Material. This all involves constructing and fortifying your Outposts to extract and guard your Genmat. At the same time, you’ll have to infiltrate and outsmart other players’ Outpost creations to steal their Genmat.

New Underworld Update Adds New Map and Unlockables for ‘Puppet Master: The Game’

Fans of October Games and Full Moon Features’ Puppet Master: The Game (which is free to play, by the way) have a new update to dive into today, ahead of the game’s reported Early Access exit this week. Alongside the usual tweaks and bug fixes, the Underworld Update adds a new map and a new human in Watcher, as well as grants new unlockable cell-shaded skins for the puppets and more.

The new map is the eponymous Underworld, which is Sutekh’s Egyptian temple, drawing inspiration from both Puppet Master 4 and Retro Puppet Master. Other maps—Fifth Floor, the Attic and Rick’s Lab—have all received remastered lighting and optimization as part of the update.

The new Watcher humans are the resurrected undead mummy servants of Sutekh, solely tasked with eliminating anyone who tries to steal Sutekh’s secret of life. The Watcher is equipped with the Power of Sutekh ability, which allows them to project demonic energy that detonates on impact, causing a 3-second ragdoll effect to those hit by it. The Watcher also has several cosmetic skins, which you can unlock with XP.

Puppet Master: The Game players also now have access to more weapons, this time with a bone theme in the Femur (a new melee weapon), a Skull and an explosive Ebony Skull. There’s also the new Grenade, which causes ragdolling and kills anything within its radius.

Lastly, the Underworld Update tweaks the puppets in regards to their Night Vision. Puppets now have a togglable light source attached to them that only they can see, which gives them the ability to see in the dark. And for those looking for a comic book look to the puppets, you can spend your XP to unlock Cell Shaded Comic Book skins for each puppet.

You can check out the full list of additions/tweaks here.
