Bloober Team Celebrates 15th Anniversary With Creepy Rendition of “You Are My Sunshine”, New ‘Layers of Fear’ Content Announcement [Video]
Bloober Team is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than with free content and a song? Not only is Layers of Fear receiving more content in a couple of weeks, but Bloober Team has partnered up with Polish singer-songwriter Natalia Szroeder for a rather creepy take on a classic children’s song.
Bloober had teased last week on X that something was going on, to which they’ve now revealed via GameSpot the collaboration with Szroeder on a rendition of “You Are My Sunshine”, paying homage to the Layers of Fear series. The performance and video (directed by Bloober Team’s CEO Piotr Babieno) offer a fresh take on the classic song, but done in an appropriately dark and haunting manner.
“Together with Natalia, we wanted to create something special. Natalia is one of the most talented young singers in the music scene, and it was very important for us to hear her voice in this new interpretation of the song because we believed it would add a mysterious character to it, and it certainly did,” Babieno said.
Apart from the song and video, the developer confirmed that Layers of Fear, which was released earlier this summer (and reviewed by Reyna), would be getting new content on October 24th. That would also coincide with the date that Bloober Team was founded back in 2008.
Layers of Fear is currently available for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
