Delve Into the Story for ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl’ With the New “Strider” Trailer [Video]

The journey that is GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is still ongoing, but the team is still making progress towards that Q1 2024 release. During PC Gamer’s PC Gaming Show, a new trailer was released for Heart of Chernobyl, dubbed “Strider”. The new trailer dives into the series’ lore, focusing on Strider, a former Monolith stalker who first appeared in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

In addition to the trailer reveal, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was also awarded the PC Gaming Show’s “Most Anticipated Game of 2024” award. The game was selected by a panel of industry legends that included Sid Meier, Tim Schafer, Cheyenne Morrin, Brian Fargo, Mariina Hallikainen, and Dean Hall.

“Firstly, it’s about you – our fans. Your passion has guided us throughout this journey, and I can never express enough gratitude for that. I consider this award a symbol of your unbreakable trust”, says Yevhen Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World and Game Director on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. “This game stands as the biggest and most complex game in our lives. It was ambitious from the beginning but evolved into an ultimate challenge. It holds extreme significance and a deeply personal connection for us, crafted amidst the most stressful conditions imaginable.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be available for the Xbox Series, the Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are available via the official site.

Frontier Developments Announce Deal for Third ‘Jurassic World Evolution’ Game

After the success of Jurassic World Evolution and its sequel, you knew that Frontier Developments would be itching to return to the well again. That appears to be the case, as the developer/publisher has announced that they’ve signed a deal with Universal for a third entry.

According to the press release, the third game in the series is scheduled for release between June 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026, with the game expected to be officially announced in the coming months. If you’re wondering about the date range, that would be because Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are currently developing a new Jurassic World film that’s slated for release on July 2, 2025.

Jurassic World Evolution remains Frontier’s best-selling game to date since its release almost six years ago.

“We are delighted to reveal that we are developing a third Jurassic World game to extend our collaborative relationship with Universal Products & Experiences for our best-selling game franchise,” states Frontier Development Chief Executive Officer Jonny Watts. “Our Jurassic World Evolution game franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre. I very much look forward to providing more information on our exciting plans for the franchise in the future.”
