Alan Wake Comes to ‘Dead by Daylight’ on January 30th [Trailer]

The teasing by Behaviour Interactive yesterday on X didn’t lie: Alan Wake is coming to Dead by Daylight! Fresh from last year’s accolades, the author heads into the fog in the latest chapter for the asymmetrical horror game on January 30th. Wake is voiced once again by Matthew Porretta and based on the likeness of Ilkka Villi. The announcement is accompanied by a new trailer showing Alan Wake working at his typewriter as the fog rolls in.

“We are thrilled to bring Alan Wake, our tortured writer, into the acclaimed Dead by Daylight. We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog,” says Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment.

As you might expect, Wake’s perks are callbacks to his own time in Bright Falls, starting with his Champion of Light perk, which grants you additional movement speed while shining a Flashlight. If you successfully Blind a Killer, they will gain the Hindered Status Effect, temporarily slowing them down. Boon: Illumination allows Wake to create a Boon Totem, which grants all nearby Survivors the ability to see the Auras of Generators and Chests across the Map. When you have a lit Boon Totem, you’ll also Cleanse and Bless Totems faster.

Lastly, there’s Deadline, which activates when you’re injured, upping the frequency of Skill Checks while Healing Survivors or Repairing Generators. Should you happen to miss a Skill Check, the penalty will be halved.

More info is expected on the upcoming Alan Wake Chapter for Dead by Daylight in the near future.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Windows Store.

Kickstarter Goal Achieved for Video Game Adaptation of ‘Lady Death’ Comic With ‘Lady Death Demonicron’

Lady Death fans will be getting a video game to call their own. Franchise creator Coffin Comics has announced that Lady Death Demonicron, a canonical beat-em-up video game in the Lady Death universe, has been funded on Kickstarter and is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch, courtesy of developer Art of Play Games.

With Lady Death Demonicron, the Lady Death franchise marks its 30th anniversary, which began way back in 1994 (though the character first appeared back in 1991). The Kickstarter for Lady Death Demonicron launched just three days ago, and has already reached its goal of $150,000 USD, with the campaign on until May 24.

“We’re excited to handcraft the next chapter of Lady Death in video game form with the creator of Lady Death Brian Pulido and his incredible team,” says Ash Nicholls, Director at Art of Play. “It’s time for Lady Death to conquer the video game space with the leadership of Art of Play,” says creator Brian Pulido. “Demonicron is true to Lady Death’s savage spirit. I can’t wait for players around the world to get their hands on it.”

Lady Death Demonicron will centre on Lady Death (naturally), who just wishes to mourn her friend in peace. Unfortunately, a horde of demonic enemies has swarmed the cemetery gates. These malevolent forces hound Lady Death between realms, invoking a hunt through alternate realities that bring forth a sinister mystery. Poised to help is Ravenheart, a haunted swordsman prepared to accompany Lady Death through these ominous realms in search of answers to a convoluted mystery.

In Demonicron, players will move through hand-drawn environments, accessing the heroine’s lethal sword skills, destructive magic, and strong intuition. You’ll be able to upgrade your kit as you battle through the beat-em-up’s 15 levels, earning new swords and uncovering brutal finishers to slay a path to victory.
