Techland Bundles Pre-existing ‘Dying Light 2’ Content Into New ‘Reloaded Edition’ [Trailer]

It’s been 2 years since Techland’s open world zombie epic Dying Light 2 was released. During that time, the team has released several updates and new content as part of their 5-year plan of support for the title. Now, Techland has decided to do a bit of a refresh with Dying Light 2: Reloaded Edition.

As they’ve done with Dying Light, the Reloaded Edition for Dying Light 2 bundles all previously-released updates, along with the most recent Firearms Update, plus the Bloody Ties DLC, into one package. The current owners of Standard Edition will get the Reloaded Edition upgraded for free.

Speaking of which, the Firearms Update is the biggest update to Dying Light 2 so far. Those of you wanting to be able to shoot the zombie hordes have gotten your wish. Techland stresses that firearms are an “enhancement rather than a complete change of genre” for Dying Light 2. Meaning, you’ll still have the same core DNA of the game, but just with an added option.

Guns aren’t the only thing in the Firearms Update, as things such as co-op survivor missions, board quests, and visual enhancements are also included. The narrative itself gets enriched with the return of some characters from the first Dying Light game.

To further sweeten the deal, PC players will have a great opportunity to experience Dying Light 2: Reloaded Edition in all its glory during the Free Weekend on Steam, which is on now until February 26th. Their progression will carry over if they choose to purchase the game at a later date. Dying Light 2: Reloaded Edition will also be available for 50% off on PC and consoles.

On top of all that, the community will be able to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Dying Light 2 with a series of special Bounties available via Pilgrim Outpost as well as other in-game surprises. The celebrations will last until 6am ET on March 7th.

Dying Light 2: Reloaded Edition is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Behaviour Interactive Partners With Haenir Studio to Develop ‘Blight: Survival’

Behaviour Interactive is busy this week. Already having dropped a new teaser trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone, they’ve now announced that they’re teaming up with Icelandic developers Haenir Studio to help with development of the Medieval co-op action horror title Blight: Survival.

“Teaming up with Behaviour Interactive signals the next major phase of development for Blight: Survival,” said Haenir Studio Co-Founder, Mads Christensen. “With Blight: Survival, we set out to deliver an ambitious and unique experience for players. Being able to utilize Behaviour’s resources, expertise, and horror pedigree will be instrumental in bringing our vision to life. We’re thrilled to kick off this journey together.”

First announced back in 2022, Blight: Survival takes place in the no man’s land between two desperate kingdoms locked in a ceaseless war. Within this realm of death and decay, a new strain of Blight has erupted from the remains of the fallen. Fed and strengthened by the blood that’s been spilled, it rapidly spreads, turning man into monster. As a result, the call goes out for those brave enough to take on the dead with the promise of wealth as a reward.

“As a game we were already looking forward to playing ourselves, we couldn’t be happier about this collaboration,” shared Stephen Mulrooney, Executive Vice President at Behaviour Interactive. “Working with talented studios like Haenir Studio in this type of partnership will be a focus for us as we look to publish more and more external games in the coming years. This is the start of something new and exciting for Behaviour, and we’ll be keeping our eyes open for interesting opportunities.”

While Blight: Survival does not currently have a release date, Haenir Studio and Behaviour Interactive are eager to share more details about the game and its ongoing development in the future. Currently, you can wishlist the game on Steam.
