Old-School Adventure Title ‘Terror at Oakheart’ Now Available on Steam [Trailer]

Published

on

For fans of slashers and video games, developer Tainted Pact’s Lovecraftian-tinged horror adventure title Terror at Oakheart is out now on Steam, with a 15% launch discount until March 12. Reminiscent of games and films from the 80s and 90s, Terror at Oakheart sports a gorgeous pixel art style that gives it a nostalgic touch, combined with an atmospheric presentation that aims to keep you hooked.

In Terror at Oakheart, you will move through a number of sets throughout the town, where you’ll encounter a horrifying killer named Teddy, who dons a clown costume for his killing spree and terrorizes the community. As the body count rises, you must uncover the secrets behind this masked menace and the town of Oakheart itself. You’ll visit locations such as Teddy’s house, the nearby police station, a ranger station, camp areas, and others. As you explore, you’ll investigate and uncover more about Teddy and the town of Oakheart, including the realization that Teddy is under the sway of a Lovecraftian monster.

Players will step into the shoes of Eric, Ethan, Rose, Tyler and other characters as you progress and investigate. Of course, you’ll also watch as each one survives or falls at Teddy’s hands. Luckily, you’re able to hide from Teddy in closets and the like in order to escape.

If you’re still on the fence, you can always try out the Steam demo for Terror at Oakheart before you buy.

Kickstarter Goal Achieved for Video Game Adaptation of ‘Lady Death’ Comic With ‘Lady Death Demonicron’

Lady Death fans will be getting a video game to call their own. Franchise creator Coffin Comics has announced that Lady Death Demonicron, a canonical beat-em-up video game in the Lady Death universe, has been funded on Kickstarter and is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch, courtesy of developer Art of Play Games.

With Lady Death Demonicron, the Lady Death franchise marks its 30th anniversary, which began way back in 1994 (though the character first appeared back in 1991). The Kickstarter for Lady Death Demonicron launched just three days ago, and has already reached its goal of $150,000 USD, with the campaign on until May 24.

“We’re excited to handcraft the next chapter of Lady Death in video game form with the creator of Lady Death Brian Pulido and his incredible team,” says Ash Nicholls, Director at Art of Play. “It’s time for Lady Death to conquer the video game space with the leadership of Art of Play,” says creator Brian Pulido. “Demonicron is true to Lady Death’s savage spirit. I can’t wait for players around the world to get their hands on it.”

Lady Death Demonicron will centre on Lady Death (naturally), who just wishes to mourn her friend in peace. Unfortunately, a horde of demonic enemies has swarmed the cemetery gates. These malevolent forces hound Lady Death between realms, invoking a hunt through alternate realities that bring forth a sinister mystery. Poised to help is Ravenheart, a haunted swordsman prepared to accompany Lady Death through these ominous realms in search of answers to a convoluted mystery.

In Demonicron, players will move through hand-drawn environments, accessing the heroine’s lethal sword skills, destructive magic, and strong intuition. You’ll be able to upgrade your kit as you battle through the beat-em-up’s 15 levels, earning new swords and uncovering brutal finishers to slay a path to victory.
