NVIDIA Shows New Glimpse of ‘DOOM: The Dark Ages’ During CES 2025 [Watch]

It’s admittedly not much, but id Software and NVIDIA have given us a new look at DOOM: The Dark Ages at CES 2025. During NVIDIA ‘s presentation of their upcoming RTX 50 Series GPUs featuring DLSS 4, the team also shared a look at games utilizing the new tech. Among them were The Witcher IV (which we saw last month during The Game Awards), and of course, id’s follow-up to 2020’s DOOM Eternal, which is due out later this year.

As reported by 80 Level, the game will support multi-frame generation from DLSS 4, ray reconstruction, and path tracing. That’s on top of offering “spectacular battles and stunning graphics” powered by the latest version of the id Tech engine.

According to Billy Khan, Director of Engine Technology at id Software, DLSS 4 marks “a new era” for gaming. “The new ray reconstruction transformer model powers a historical leap in raytracing capabilities; not just accelerating performance but also enhancing visuals in DOOM: The Dark Ages.”

For graphics junkies, DOOM: The Dark Ages and The Witcher IV are just some of the 75 games announced that will support DLSS 4’s new multi-frame generation to allow for increased framerates. Others titles include Alan Wake 2, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, Silent Hill 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Still Wakes The Deep.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is a single-player action FPS that tells the epic cinematic origin story of the Doomslayer’s rage. You are the Doomslayer, the legendary demon-killing warrior and the super weapon in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell. Inspired by the original Doom, players must overcome the odds in The Dark Ages in firmly grounded, heavy-hitting clashes featuring destructible demons, vicious melee strikes and more.

One of our most anticipated games for this year, DOOM: The Dark Ages rips and tears into PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the PC via Steam. It’ll also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
