DreadXP and Games From The Abyss’ unorthodox third-person Survival Horror title The Lacerator has hacked its way onto PC via Steam. Blending the tense Survival Horror of retro classics with the over-the-top chaos and humor of an 80s grindhouse slasher flick, The Lacerator has launched with a 10% limited-time discount from now until October 23. The previously-released demo is also still available.

Players must explore, fight, and puzzle their way out of the hellish lair of the sadistic killer known only as The Lacerator. Every decision matters, especially after the game’s signature mechanic comes into play: losing just about any limb in your body. Lose an arm, leg, or a rather specific appendage, and your options change dramatically, sometimes limiting what you can do, but also opening up new paths and possibilities, branching the narrative into gruesome outcomes.

The story concerns Max, a famous porn actor and the best to ever do it. During the latest recording session with his crew, things get really hairy when everyone is attacked and abducted by the eponymous serial killer. Now inside a filthy hideout, Max must do whatever it takes to escape alive and in one piece. That’s unlikely to happen, as the psycho killer loves to lacerate his victims.
