Inspired by ‘DOOM RPG’, Turn-Based Dungeon Crawler ‘Dungeons of DUSK’ Announced [Trailer]

New Blood Interactive is returning to the world of DUSK with developer 68k Studios’ turn-based dungeon RPG Dungeons of DUSK. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, the Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, the PC via Steam and GOG, and iOS and Android, the game will launch in 2026, with a demo for Steam coming next year.

Taking place canonically between the episodes of the cult classic FPS (literally right after the end of Episode 1), this dungeon crawling RPG sees players bust their way through a 30-level campaign with character progression (including obtaining skills and passive bonuses) and NPCs to help in your quest.

Featuring new and familiar foes to test your mettle (and for you to scratch that itchy trigger finger), there will also be several modes available, including an Endless Arena Mode, a Boss Rush Mode, and a Survival Mode that features permadeath and a randomly generated dungeon.

Per New Blood Interactive CEO Dave Oshry, Dungeons of DUSK takes inspiration from Fountainhead Entertainment’s 2005 mobile title DOOM RPG, which was “addictive as hell,” according to Oshry. “DOOM RPG was nothing anyone expected but everything it needed to be and more. It turned the classic DOOM formula of shotguns & demons into a bite sized RPG experience without too much bullshit on top.”

In fact, one of the weapons you’ll find in Dungeons of DUSK, a yellow-handled fire axe, is their homage to the same axe you get in DOOM RPG.

Dungeons of DUSK will also feature a level editor and Steam Workshop, the above-mentioned demo will be debuting at Steam Next Fest in February, and the game will be Steam Deck Verified.
