Closed Beta Sign-ups Now Open for Roguelike Survival Horror Game ‘ROGUE MANSION’

Published

on

Fresh from the success earlier this year with Labyrinth Of The Demon King, Top Hat Studios has announced Almenara Games’ upcoming survival horror roguelike, ROGUE MANSION, will be entering Closed Beta tentatively planned for January 2026. Those eager to join in on the fun can submit their applications by joining the Top Hat Studios Discord community, where they’ll receive further instructions related to the sign-up form.

Those selected to participate in the Closed Beta will gain access to a full run of the game with a single playable character, allowing them to “fully experience the mansion’s shifting layout, survival mechanics, puzzles, and tense retro-inspired atmosphere.”

Blending classic survival horror and modern roguelike mechanics, ROGUE MANSION draws inspiration from iconic retro and PS2-era horror games. The story takes place in the eponymous Rogue Mansion, an opulent residence once inhabited by the esteemed couple Lazarus and Catherine Rogue. Known for their power, wealth, and influence, they were the pillars of the community. However, tragedy struck when Catherine succumbed to an incurable illness, leaving Lazarus broken and consumed by grief. Overcome by despair, Lazarus took his own life within the mansion’s grand walls.

Shortly after, unexplained disappearances, strange sightings, and disasters centered around the mansion began gripping the nearby Greenhart City. Nobody who has ventured inside the mansion to investigate the link has returned.

So of course, you’re one of the people who decides to venture into the mansion. You’ll explore the procedurally-generated mansion, which becomes increasingly dangerous and unpredictable as you venture deeper into its depths. Players will choose from multiple unique characters – each with their own equipment, special perks, and motivations. You’ll also be able to switch between first-person or third-person perspectives at any time in order to remix how you see and approach challenges.

Seeing as this is a survival horror title, you’ve got to manage your resources, solve puzzles, fight all kinds of unworldly creatures, and find a way out while you unravel the mysteries of the mansion. Making progress rewards you with the ability to unlock new weapons, special items, alternate costumes, and more.

And, if you’ve submitted your application for the Closed Beta, you can also check out the game’s demo.
