‘Resident Evil Requiem’ Has Now Sold Over 5 Million Copies Since Launch

Published

In what’s probably the least shocking news of this week, Resident Evil Requiem is a success. Capcom has announced that the ninth entry in the main series has now surpassed 5 million units since its launch back on February 27. If that doesn’t smell like success, Capcom also revealed that cumulative game sales since the very first title launched way back in 1996 have exceeded 183 million units as of December 31, 2025.

The news only adds to the series’ success, which celebrates its 30th anniversary later this month.

“[Resident Evil Requiem] successfully elevated the essence of survival horror by heightening the interplay between intense fear and exhilarating action,” says Capcom in the press release.”Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.”

Set 30 years after the Raccoon City Incident, Resident Evil Requiem follows FBI intelligence analyst Grace Ashcroft assigned to investigate a string of mysterious deaths in the same place where her mother was murdered eight years prior. When a police officer goes missing at the hotel, Legendary DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy is also dispatched to the scene.

As Grace and Leon’s paths converge, they must face their pasts and uncover the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident that changed the world forever. But while the terrors of their memories echo in their minds, will they relive the nightmare…or finally offer up a requiem for the dead?

Resident Evil Requiem is available now for the Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series. And if for whatever reason you need further convincing, check out Aaron’s review.

During the Future Games Show, Bandai Namco and Supermassive have announced the first DLC for Little Nightmares III in “The Backstage”. Featuring new puzzles and challenges, this additional content will take players to the darkest part of the Carnevale, where they’ll meet a new character and face new perils. You won’t have to wait long to get it, either, as Little Nightmares III – The Backstage DLC will release on June 12.

In this new adventure, Low will meet Dime, a new child who wears a torch hat, which turns out to be a very helpful tool for finding their way in what lies beneath the curtains of The Carnevale. The two children will have to face new threats and use their light to find a way to save Alone from the hands of the Puppeteer.

In the original game, players meet Low and Alone, who are trapped within the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing places. The two will have to work together to survive in a dangerous world full of delusions. As they scamper and shelter on their journey to escape the grasp of an even greater threat, their senses may also lead them astray into the shadows.

Little Nightmares III is currently available for PC via SteamXbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
