Hell Byte Studios has announced that its debut dark-fantasy co-op FPS Blood Reaver will being going the Steam Early Access route on Steam, launching into the service on April 15. Alongside the date announcement is a new trailer showing more of the in-game action.
In Blood Reaver, players will reignite an ancient conflict between earth and hell as one of the Blood Reavers – cursed warriors wielding guns, magic and more. Along with working to end the demonic invasion, you’ll rediscover the forgotten history of your order.
Built by lifelong fans of the round-based wave shooter genre, Blood Reaver takes the tension and survival depth that made Call of Duty Zombies a phenomenon and pushes it further with visceral gunplay, blood-fueled magic and deep build crafting. Kill demons to charge your spells across three schools of magic, Blood Magic, Ethereal Arts, and Forbidden powers.
A round-based wave shooter for 1–4 players, each wave in Blood Reaver adds more enemies, which increase in speed and toughness. The game doesn’t slow down until you’re dead. However, in between rounds, players can use the Deck of Fates to draw upgrade cards for their character, while the Blood Infuser adds special properties to weapons. Each map also contains environmental lore, clues about who the Blood Reavers were, how the demons can be stopped and what’s really driving the invasion.
