Dead Island 2 has been a success story for Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios after being in development hell for years prior to its 2023 release. So much so that the devteams have marked the game’s third anniversary with a few killer initiatives, starting with a crossover with Devolver Digital’s Quarantine Zone.
The free update brings a slice of HELL‑A into Quarantine Zone, allowing players to encounter – and embark on – unique missions on behalf of fan‑favourite Dead Island 2 survivors. Each of the survivors comes with a quest connected to their backstory. In addition, Devolver Digital has added over a dozen new custom survivors with different quirks about them for you to screen when they try to get through.
That’s not all. Previously exclusive to Steam, the Dead Island Series Bundle will be coming to Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 for the first time, giving long‑time fans a chance to revisit entire series, as well as give newcomers the chance to dive into the Zompocalypse back-to-back for the first time.
Finally, the devs have put together more stats from the game’s three years of playtime, showing just how much blood players have spilled, how many dismemberments and beheadings have taken place, the most popular survivor and more.
You can grab Dead Island 2 on PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series, and the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
