If you haven’t yet checked out Blumhouse Games and Vermila Studios’ Crisol: Theater of Idols, the devteams have prepared a new trailer touting the reasons why you should plunk down your money for it (which also includes Harrison’s 4 out of 5 score for the game). At the same time, Crisol has received a new update that brings a host of improvements, optimizations, and fixes across PC and consoles.
The update addresses community-reported issues, improves performance in key areas, adds support for additional monitor resolutions, and includes platform-specific enhancements across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The patch also allows those who own a Steam Deck to finally take the game on the go.
Crisol: Theater of Idols takes players deep into the world of Hispania, a nightmarish version of Spain torn apart by two warring religions. Players take control of Gabriel, a soldier who uses his own blood as both weapon and lifeline, to fulfil a divine mission from the Sun God.
Uncover the chilling history and twisted folklore of Tormentosa, a beautiful but malevolent island. Players will traverse eerie landscapes, crumbling grand ruins, and labyrinthine streets as they peel back the layers of cults and blood sacrifice.
Blood is both your lifeline and your ammunition in Crisol. You must wield this power against terrifying enemies, as well as use it to solve intricate puzzles. However, you must take care, as every shot drains your life. Choose wisely—survival hinges on your ability to balance life and death.
Luckily, you can upgrade your powers that will enhance the lethality of your blood to deal more damage, fight for longer, and to gain bonuses in combat. At your disposal are a myriad of weapon options, which you must choose for the right scenario. You can also upgrade these weapons through coins found on your journey of Tormentosa.
Crisol: Theater of Idols is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. And seeing as the Steam Summer Sale is on now, you can grab the PC version with a 10% discount.
