Trailer for ‘Liminal Backrooms’ Focuses on Core Co-Op Gameplay Experience [Watch]

Want more Backrooms content? The Unknown is offering just that with Liminal Backrooms, an upcoming co-op horror game set inside the Backrooms. The team has just released a new trailer for the game, which is now available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its Q4 2026 release into Early Access. A demo is also available.

The new trailer focuses on the core gameplay experience. Exploring Level 0 with a team, solving puzzles, facing entities with different behaviours and surviving situations where every mistake can put the whole group at risk.

Liminal Backrooms is a co-op horror game for up to 4 players, set inside a network of liminal spaces, endless corridors, and levels inspired by the nightmare of the Backrooms. Built around exploration, puzzle solving and survival, players must work together to explore liminal spaces, find clues, solve environmental puzzles and survive hostile entities while learning the rules of each level.

Every level in Liminal Backrooms is designed around its own rules, dangers and mechanics. However, the entities that inhabit these spaces do not always follow the same rules. Some chase you. Some watch you. Others simply wait for you to make a mistake. Players will need to observe, communicate and adapt if they want to escape.

And while you wait for Liminal Backrooms, you can always check out The Backrooms: Lost Tape, which Luiz recently reviewed.
