Buzzin’ Games continues their series of player character reveals (known as “The Damned Files”) for Rock, Paper, Severed, introducing Dr Amy Chen (aka Lobot-Amy), the second of four playable characters you will choose from in this twisted game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Dr Amy Chen was once a gifted psychiatric registrar with a promising future ahead of her. Behind the closed doors of the clinic, however, Amy was living a very different life. Away from public scrutiny, she performed illegal transorbital lobotomies on patients whose families paid for the procedures in cash. However, one patient soon changed everything.
Beatrice was not supposed to be conscious when Amy began the procedure. But when her eyes opened, everything changed. In a desperate struggle, Beatrice turned the instruments on Amy, leaving her permanently disfigured and mentally fractured. The consequences of that encounter would haunt Amy long after she was admitted to a secure hospital.
Now missing from that hospital, Amy has become the centre of an investigation that has drawn the attention of private investigator Michael “Mike” Dowd, whose investigation will uncover a character caught somewhere between perpetrator and victim, in a world where guilt, punishment and salvation become impossible to separate.
Inspired by British folklore and the forgotten tradition of Sin-Eating, players in Rock, Paper, Severed are summoned before The Old Sire, an ancient entity that offers sinners one final opportunity for absolution through a series of horrifying trials. Every throw carries consequences. Every defeat comes at a terrible cost. Lose a round, lose a finger.
Throughout the single-player experience, players face The Old Sire directly as the stories of four damaged souls gradually unfold through dialogue and their encounters around the table, revealing the choices, tragedies and sins that brought each of them to this moment.
Beyond the single-player campaign, multiplayer casts The Old Sire as the sinister master of ceremonies, presiding over deadly contests where strategy, deception and survival become just as important as the throw of a hand.
