Bloober Team is bringing the SAW series back with brand-new video game SAW: Genesis, but you’ll have to wait until next year for the game to release in Steam Early Access.
The developers have announced in an official statement this afternoon, “Our ambition from the beginning of development was to deliver a SAW videogame worthy of its legacy, and for fans who have followed this franchise for decades. In fact, our ambition is for SAW: Genesis to become part of that legacy. This is why we take the quality of this game very seriously, and why we want to give it the time it needs.”
“Today we’ve made the decision to move the SAW: Genesis Early Access release to Q1 2027,” the statement continues. “We know how much this franchise means to its fans, and we want to deliver a game that not only lives up to the SAW name, but also a great multiplayer horror game in its own right.
“In recent months, we have gathered a great deal of feedback, and we’ve had the opportunity to test the game under a variety of conditions. We received a lot of positive and enthusiastic comments, as well as specific notes that would help improve elements of the game and their performance.
“Your enthusiasm and input have been invaluable, and we’re incredibly grateful to have you with us on this journey. We know the wait will be longer than expected, but we believe SAW: Genesis will be better for it. Thank you for your patience and trust.”
Set in the grim aftermath of World War I, SAW: Genesis allows you to play on either side of a 3v1 confrontation in intense matches that take place on procedurally generated maps.

Or play as one of three Accused looking to escape the deadly labyrinth through teamwork and sacrifice. Shaped by their experiences in The Great War, the Judge is dedicated to rehabilitating humanity through pain and sacrifice.
Customize your approach with perks and traps, then seek to control the match from the shadows. Unlike other asymmetrical multiplayer games, the Judge is physically vulnerable and cannot overpower the Accused through sheer force alone.
