Youth Signals Channel ‘Insidious’ In “Foreign Eye” Video (Exclusive)

We’ve teamed up with indie rockers Youth Signals to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for “Foreign Eye”, which comes from last year’s 1997 single. The video is a strong love letter to the horror genre, using moody lighting and Insidious-esque visuals to create a dreamy, eerie clip.

Youth Signals lead vocalist/video director Brock Bodell comments:

The lyrics to Foreign Eye plot out the coordinates of this girl’s hazy journey through a putrid corridor, inspired by the stylings of a particularly sensual and disturbing scene in Andrzej Zulawski’s ‘Possession’ (1981). With the use of some Dario Argento-inspired lighting, I tried to create two worlds. One where she is free from the grips of what haunts her and one where she is an unwilling puppet.

At the end of the hallway reverberates a siren’s song, “Don’t be scared it’s only Youth Signals”. When she gets there she finds out, like the siren’s song, she had been baited, and by the looks of the leader, it wasn’t the first time they’d done it. I just wanted to make a moody homage to some of my favorite horror stylings. I wanted to make people feel uneasy, and a little claustrophobic. I wanted them to feel hope and then I wanted it taken away from them.
