The Evil Dead… from conception to creation and reception to aftermath.
Fan-made docs about horror movies/franchises such as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, Fright Night and Pet Sematary have recently been massive treats for all of us, and we expect that many more are soon on the way – as we recently told you, filming is gearing up to begin on a doc all about the 1990 adaptation of IT!
While we wait for more feature length docs that dig deep into our favorite movies, Demented Pictures’ Mike Rydal has taken it upon himself to launch a web-series devoted to bite-sized mini-documentaries about some of the genre’s best and brightest.
The new series just launched this week with Episode 1, all about The Evil Dead!
Running just under 20-minutes long, Rydal’s Evil Dead doc is absolutely jam packed with behind the scenes insights as well as fun facts, covering nearly every stage of the production and even touching upon everything Evil Dead-related that came in the wake of Sam Raimi’s classic film. For such a short video, it’s pretty incredible how deep he dives into all things Evil Dead.
