Fan Installed Jason Voorhees Statue Underwater at Popular Minnesota Dive Site!

Horror fans prove, time and time again, that they’re the coolest.

At the end of Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, an adult Tommy Jarvis vanquishes Jason Voorhees once more by literally chaining him to the bottom of Crystal Lake, returning him to the site of his original death as a child. Of course, Jason remains alive at the bottom of the lake, eventually returning for more murder in the subsequent film.

The image of Jason chained up underwater is one of the most iconic in the Friday the 13th franchise, and one fan recently took it upon himself to bring it into the real world.

Back in 2013, Doug Klein built and installed a statue of Jason Voorhees underwater at a popular diving site in Crosby, Minnesota (in an old iron ore pit, he says), which still remains at that location to this day. The original video was uploaded to YouTube in 2014, but it’s only now being discovered and going viral across the horror community.

Check out the original video below, along with a 2017 update!
