I’m absolutely loving “Playtime“, Academy Award-winning studioADI‘s heavily Child’s Play-inspired series that serves as a love letter to the dying art of practical animatronic effects.
“Playtime” centers on a killer doll named Billy, the star of an old horror franchise. In the meta series, Billy finds out his franchise is being rebooted. Worse yet, the new iteration of Billy will be a computer-generated killer, thanks to a motion capture performance from Andy Serkis.
The story continues as Billy reminisces on the past by calling his Bride of Billy costar. It doesn’t go as well as he hopes and ends up further spiraling into depression. Check out Part 4 of the series below!
