Ruairi Robinson, who directed the incredible short film “Blinky”, is back with another indie production that puts a modern spin on They Live.
In “Corporate Monster”, a dangerously unstable man’s life spirals out of control when the prescription pills he takes start to have a side effect: they allow him to see the parasitic beings that have long been puppeteering our world from the shadows.
While John Carpenter’s They Live, based on the 1963 short story “Eight O’Clock in the Morning” by Ray Nelson, is still socially relevant, Robinson’s short (co-written by Eoin Rogers) has a lot to say about the current opioid addiction crisis that’s plagued our country, while also touching on modern politics.
