Konami Is Finally Patching Silent Hill Downpour And The HD Collection
Rewind to February and you would’ve found a cheerier, more hopeful Adam. March looked incredible, with its triple dose of Silent Hill and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Unfortunately, March quickly transformed into a month of horror, and not for the reasons most of us would’ve liked. I wasn’t as burned as a majority of horror fans were by Downpour and the HD Collection, but there’s no denying how buggy the latter was. To my surprise, I also enjoyed Operation Raccoon City, but that could be a mixture of my incredibly low expectations for it going in and the fact that by the time I got my hands on the game four of the Spec Ops missions — which are far superior to the campaign that comes with that game — had already released.
Thankfully, Konami has taken notice of all the issues that are plaguing their games saying “Players have voiced their concerns, and solutions to these issues will be fixed and launched in the coming weeks.” So that’s good news, assuming you’re like me and you haven’t already traded in your games. Don’t do it kids, keep your games, because every time you trade one in Pyramid Head sheds a single tear. That tear then proceeds to run down his creepy metal helmet and down his skirt made of human skin.
These patches, which will come out soon for the PS3 and Xbox 360, will fix some of the more serious issues players have experienced while playing these games. A statement from Konami explained the work that’s being done to remedy the issue, “Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, development teams are currently creating online patches for both games, which will fix the frame rate issues, the audio-synching in Silent Hill HD Collection, and the Auto-Save issues in Silent Hill Downpour.”

All of us here at Bloody Disgusting are deeply sad to learn that The Blob director Chuck Russell has passed away at 74 years old.
Russell’s career began with his directorial debut, 1987’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
The multihyphenate film director, screenwriter, and producer is best known for helming 1994 comedy The Mask starring Jim Carrey, Arnold Schwarzenegger actioner Eraser, and adventure spinoff The Scorpion King. The latter served as the first leading role for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The filmmaker left an indelible mark on horror with his ANOES sequel, 1988’s The Blob, and 2000’s Bless the Child.
Russell’s final film credit is 2024’s Witchboard remake starring Madison Iseman (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), and Jamie Campbell Bower (“Stranger Things”).
It marked Russell’s return to horror after a lengthy hiatus, and he shared sequel hopes to Bloody Disgusting in an interview ahead of the remake’s release: “I got to design the board with real mystical symbols and things that I know represent good and evil, and where that board takes us if the audiences respond to the film, and I hope they will; I know it’s out there for you guys, but the sequel is a world we’ll get to go a little further. That’s sure the intention.”
He also recently expressed interest in returning to the franchise that began his career.
TMZ notes that Russell passed away at his San Diego-area home.
