Latest Cabin in the Woods Horror, ‘Bornless Ones’, Channels ‘Evil Dead’ (Trailer)

Only evil will survive…

In the tradition of The Evil Dead, and starring The Newsroom’s Margaret Judson and Teen Wolf’s Michael Johnston, writer/director Alexander Babaev‘s Bornless Ones comes to theaters and VOD February 10..

Having just moved to a remote home near an institution to better care for her brother Zach, Emily invites a few friends over to help her unpack. They soon discover strange symbols etched into the boards on the windows. In an effort to clean the house they clear them away, soon realizing the gravity of their mistake as they one by one become possessed by an evil force.

Margaret Judson, Devin Goodsell, Michael Johnston, Mark Furze, Bobby T, and David Banks star in an “atmospheric and demon-filled fright-fest” we now have an exclusive trailer and images from.

    That looks very familiar…

Sam Raimi may want to talk to a copyright lawyer about this…

There was a movie made around about 2000 (iirc) called Deadfall – which was a BLATANT rip off (homage?) of The Evil Dead.
I remember buying the dvd years back and actually enjoying the movie – even though it was absolutely riffing on Raimi’s movie – I think I only paid a quid for it, so it wasn’t as if it was a waste of money – I’d actually rewatch it again but I loaned it out a few years back and never got it back. 🙁

go watch Equinox from 1970 and then have those guys call THEIR copyright lawyers on Raimi.

  • This looks okay BUT maybe someone can help me here. About a year ago a trailer was released for a really cool looking Evil Dead type movie that I believe was about a couple staying in a cabin together when one of them gets possessed, and I think I remember zombies were a part of it as well. The trailer was really good with OTT gore and humor. I can’t for the life of me remember the title and am unsure if it ever got released. I know that’s not a lot to go off of but anyone have any ideas what it could be?

The only thing that comes to mind is a flick called The Hive.

      • Yaaass. That’s it. Thanks. Did you see this film?

  • Yeah. I remember thinking the trailer looked great and then…nothing.

I bought it on iTunes. It was released by Chris Hardwicks’ Nerdist. It wasn’t too bad. A little long at times.

This is plagiarism at it’s finest. I mean I’m not that bothered that Evil Dead has influenced the movie, but the trailer plays out almost scene for scene. In fact I think one of the only things missing was the vine sequence.

“Channeling” is a very… forgiving word.

  • Hash-Slinging Slasher

It’s a shame all that talent and effort went into such a blatant ripoff. On the other hand, the Evil Dead franchise needs about 8 more movies in the vein of the original and less like AOD or AvsED.

Also a rip off if wither, which was actually pretty good

Wither was great. Its what the official remake should have been.

  • Halloween_Vic

This literally looks like a watered down, cheaper version of a Evil Dead remake like literally.

  • DarkBree

I think I’ve seen this movie before, a better version of it. Oh wait, I think it’s called Evil Dead!

  • Jim Charette

This reminds me of the Swedish horror movie “Wither” which was an homage to the Evil Dead series & was actually pretty good. I suggest anyone who is interested in this movie to see (obviously Evil Dead first) Wither.
