In a recent interview for the newly released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form spoke about the upcoming reboot of Friday the 13th and dropped a BOMB that is going to bring some new blood into the series!

We’re going to go back and we’re going to meet that family,” Fuller told Yahoo, speaking of the Voorhees clan. Form confirmed, adding, “We’re going to meet the family. You’re gonna meet Pamela, Elias, and Jason. And you’re gonna see how it all happened.

Fuller previously stated, “You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward.” He adds that it’s definitely an origin, although clarifying, “…but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.

This news comes after speculation that the film would include Jason’s father as well as confirmation that Pamela would be involved.

The new Friday the 13th is being written by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) and is slated to come out in January 2017.

You can pick up the Friday the 13th boxset via Amazon.
